Kutless - All the Words

Con Kutless estreno un género nuevo; porque a esta banda se la ubica en lo que se conoce como "Christian Rock" o "rock Cristiano"; bastante distinto a lo que estamos acostumbrados a escuchar en la iglesia.

Kutless es una banda con una gran variedad músical, y que ha alcanzado con distintos temas los número 1 del ranking de rock cristiano en los Estados Unidos. El tema que les dejo "All the Words", no es el caso, creo que ni siquiera fue lanzado como corte del disco "Sea of Faces" en el cual estaba incluido. Es un tema que escuché (cuando no) en Scrubs, y la verdad que me llamó la atención; y me parece que iría perfecto para musicalizar algún video casero.

Dashboard Confessional - Stolen

Hoy llega "Dashboard Confessional" una ¿banda? de Florida, Estados Unidos. Los signos de interrogación se deben a que parece ser en realidad el nombre de la carrera solista de su principal miembro Chris Carraba, el guitarrista y "frontman" de la banda; por lo que escuché y leí parece que estamos ante la presencia de una especie de "one hit wonder"; aunque en realidad la canción en cuestión alcanzó "nomás" el puesto 44, pero sin impedir que sea un tema, llamativo al menos.
Stolen es una muy buena canción que va construyendo su clima progresivamente a medida que va avanzando la canción, hasta alcanzar lo que en mi opinión es un final más que interesante. Se incluyó dentro del album Dusk and Summer. Una curiosidad de esta canción es que se lanzaron dos versiones de la canción una "slow" (la que les dejo) y una un poco más acelerada en el tempo que es con la cual se hizo el videoclip.

Fountains of Wayne - Hey Julie

Bueno cada vez aparezco más espaciadamente pero acá vuelvo con otra canción, en este caso de la banda americana "Fountains of Wayne". La banda apareció en el año 1996 y ha tenido un par de veces sus "15 minutos de fama" con canciones como "Radiation Vibe" y "Stacy´s mom" (con un videoclip muy gracioso) La canción que acá les dejo no es ninguna de esas, pero al igual que la última aparece en el disco "Welcome Interstate Managers".
El tema en cuestión es la muy simple y pegajosa "Hey Julie"; (nada que ver con la gloriosa "Hey Jude" de los 4 dioses de Liverpool) Instrumentación acústica, y una melodía cautivante es la receta de este tema, que se hizo conocido al público general en un capítulo de la fascinante y comiquísima serie de televisión "Scrubs".

Five for Fighting - 100 years

Bueno como me quedé con bronca porque la canción de The Fray no se escucha vuelvo a la carga con otra balada al piano. En este caso, Five for Fighting el cual podría ser tranquilamente el nombre de una banda, pero es el nombre artístico del artista de piano rock/pop John Ondrasik; un estadounidense que araña los 40 años y hace 10 que se lanzó profesionalmente a la música; sus influencias pueden ser marcadas para el lado del genial Billy Joel y ciertas cosas de Elton John. Multi-instrumentista (piano, guitarra, voces, armonica) tiene una poderosa habilidad para componer temas profundos y pegadizos como el que les dejo acá.

"100 years" pertenece a su disco de 2004, "The Battle for everything" y cuenta la historia de una relación amorosa que empieza a los 15 y termina a los 100 años; todo esto acompañado por una excelente base de piano de fondo. El tema tuvo una muy buena aceptación, llevando al disco al puesto Nº20 en los Estados Unidos; y siendo utilizada en varios programas de televisión.

Hot Hot Heat - Middle of nowhere

Bueno después de no haber posteado nada el fin de semana; y de luchar para ver si la canción de "The Fray" lograba andar (cosa que no pude) les dejo otra canción.
En esta oportunidad les dejo algo de "Hot Hot Heat" banda canadiense de indie rock de aparición en la escena músical en 1999. La canción "Middle of nowhere" pertenece al disco "Elevator" del 2005; y el tema fue lanzado también como single alcanzando el puesto 23 en el ranking estadounidense, y el 47 en el Reino Unido. También se incluyó en el segundo disco del soundtrack de la serie "One Tree Hill".
La canción en sí es una canción aparentemente bastante alegre, con un teclado pop que se destaca lo suficiente; pero a pesar de esto hay una letra bastante melancólica.
Denle una oída al tema que seguramente les va a llamar la atención.
